Certainly yes! We are pleased to recommend the "Castello di Verrazzano", three km far from the historical centre of the town. Follow the direction for Florence on SS222. Everyday at 11:00 a.m. ( excluding Saturday and Sunday ) there's a tour that starts from the castle and continue to the vineyards and cellars of Verrazzano. A light lunch with prosciutto, cheese and a wine tasting will be served in the castle terrace. 30 Euro all included. If you want to buy or taste Chianti wines you are welcome at Falorni's "Le Cantine di Greve in Chianti" a wine shop where you can taste more than 100 wines.
There is a repair shop "Ramuzzi Shop" 800 mt. from the town center that rents motorcycles, scooters and bikes. It offers a good service for renting even for a few hours. To rent a car "Garage Vanni" 100 mt. far from the center offers a good price for around 60 euros/day. They also offer safe parking.
There's a company called "Stedop" that can provide cars, busses, and mini-busses fto take you where you want to go in Italy.
15 km from Greve there's a beautiful riding school where you can take a ride in the countryside.
We can give you some advice: Radda in Chianti for instance, you can visit Volpaia too, a beautiful little town where you'll find a good restaurant owned by a whole family. The restaurant is called "La Bottega", it has a nice terrace where you can eat while taking a look all over the hilly Chianti panorama. They give good Italian kitchen lessons too! Between Radda and Gaiole you can discover the castles of Chianti area, the most famous is Brolio Castle where you can visit the vineyards and buy a really good Chianti wine. Greve in Chianti is also close to San Gimignano, a medieval town famous for its seven towers or Monteriggioni another medieval town where once a year there's a medieval festival where you buy everything with an ancient type of money. Volterra it's another beautiful town famous for its alabaster masterpieces, it has to be seen! Siena is only 35km from Greve! All the towns we have written about can be visited with a daily excursion because they're less than 1 hour away from Greve by car.
The most famous festival of Greve in Chianti is "La festa del vino", the wine festival. It takes place in the first week of September during the harvesting of the grapes. This festival is important for people who lives in Greve because it's the reward for all the hardwork to produce the wine.
The flowers festival takes place in the first week of May and it's really beautiful to see the main square entirely covered by a multicoloured carpet of flowers.
The first Monday after Easter and the first Monday of October a famous antique market is held in town, you can find unbelievable stuff!
Every Saturday morning there's the typical market of the town, here you'll find hats, bags and everything to wear. Even the most attractive food, porchetta for instance is a really good gastronomic speciality!
